Burnham has always welcomed its visitors, particularly during Burnham Week. The Town Council has long recognised the importance of its celebrated Regatta and the Mayor sends this personal message.
The Town Council is pleased and proud to welcome visitors, not only to this website but also to the Town of Burnham itself. Burnham Week is an event which the Council is pleased to support together with the June Music Festival and the September Carnival.

Our long Association with Burnham Week is marked by two trophies. Firstly, the Town Cup which the Council itself was instrumental in creating in 1927 and secondly, the St Mathew Cup, presented to the Town when the quayside, known as HMS St Mathew in World War II, was restored to the clubs at its end.
The St Mathew Cup has been celebrated with team-racing events between all the clubs on the Crouch every September after Burnham Week without a break since 1946.

Whilst we offer plenty of attractions to the yachting visitor, other visitors are equally well catered for. We boast ten public houses and a wide range of excellent restaurants and take-aways. You can stroll along the river bank from the Marina to Holliwell Point, watch the wealth of birdlife on the saltings and mudflats as well as enjoy the Country Park and the Sports Centre. We cater for all age ranges and tastes, from the Golf Club at Creeksea to the Railway Museum at Mangapps where Thomas the Tank Engine can sometimes be seen getting up steam on special visits.

Burnham Week ends with a bang at the Firework Display sponsored by the Town Council. The Mayor, Councillor Carole Noble, and all her Council hope that your week will be equally successful.
